Kimmon offers the widest variety of HeCd lasers. We currently offer HeCd lasers which output blue (442nm), ultraviolet (325nm) or both wavelengths simultaneously.

442nm HeCd lasers

Our 442nm HeCd lasers are available in power ranges from 14mW to 180mW TEMoo. Most of our 442nm HeCd lasers come standard with polarized light but systems are available with random polarization if required.

For a complete listing of all the specifications on our 442nm HeCd lasers, please proceed to our Specification Page.

Hospital laser 325nm HeCd lasers

Our 325nm HeCd lasers are available in power ranges from 2mW to 50mW TEMoo and from 5mW to 100mW TEM multimode. Most of our 325nm HeCd lasers come standard with polarized light but systems are available with random polarization if required.

For a complete listing of all the specifications on our 325nm HeCd, lasers please proceed to our Specification Page.

Dual wavelength HeCd lasers (325nm/442nm)

We offer six TEMoo versions of dual wavelength lasers which range in power from 1mW to 30mW @ 325nm and 15mW to 110mW @ 442nm. We also offer six multimode dual wavelength versions which range in power from 2mW to 40mW @ 325nm and 20mW to 150mW @ 442nm. Each of these lasers is polarized and has a coherence length of 10cm. If more power or coherence length is desired, any one of these lasers can be equipped with single isotope cadmium which will provide substantially more power and 30cm coherence length.

Lifetimes

The average lifetimes of our HeCd lasers are the best in the business. All of our lasers average 4,500 hours or more and some models average over 6,000 hours. Do not be surprised if you get a system which will run for more than 10,000 hours, as we see them quite often.

CD

We credit our superior lifetimes to our design and manufacturing processes of our HeCd lasers. Over the 25 years we have been making HeCd lasers, our tube design has improved as we continue to learn more about how to make a better HeCd laser. Data collected from lasers we ship to our customers, from the lasers which are returned for new tubes, from our life test lasers we run in-house and from our R & D department is what we use to design better HeCd lasers. Our manufacturing process contributes to the long lifetimes of our lasers because we build, process and assemble almost everything for our lasers in-house. This includes blowing our own laser tubes from quartz that we mine out of our own quartz mines throughout the world. We also have our own assembly lines which manufacture PC boards, transformers, wiring harnesses and other items that go into our HeCd lasers. Although this process is more expensive than subcontracting to an outside vendor, we find that we are able to precisely control the quality of our lasers.

Warranty

Because the reliability of our lasers meets the highest standards, we can offer the best warranty in the business. Our IK-B,C Series lasers are warranted against defective materials and workmanship for a period of one year or 3,000 hours from date of shipment, whichever occurs first, to 70% of specified power. The IK-D,E,F,G series lasers are warranted against defective materials and workmanship for a period of one year or 2,500 hours from date of shipment, whichever occurs first, to 70% of specified power.

Another aspect of our warranty we want you to know about is the fact that we reset our warranty on the laser head if the tube ever has to be replaced whether, in or out of warranty. This aspect of our warranty is best explained in the example below:

Kimmon Lab Tech Let's say you purchased a laser from Kimmon and 10 months after you purchased it the laser died, after only running for 1,500 hours. Of course, we would replace the laser tube for you free of charge under our warranty coverage and the laser would be shipped back to you with a new one year or 2,500 hour or 3,000 hour warranty depending on which series of laser you purchased. If your laser dies again 8 months later with 2,000 hours on it, the laser tube would once again be replaced with a new tube and the warranty reset. If you were to apply either of our competitor's laser warranty to this same scenario you would have had to pay for the second laser tube since they do not reset their warranties when a tube is replaced under warranty. Depending on the laser model you purchased, your cost savings could range anywhere from $3,000 to over $18,000.

Kimmon is able to offer such a warranty since we very seldom see lasers failing within our warranty period. If we did, we would always be replacing tubes for free and would stop offering such a warranty. This is precisely the reason why our competitors do not offer such a warranty.
